Today British defense company BAE Systems PLC has anounced that it is now ready to pay 29.5 million pounds ($47 million) to the government of Tanzania to close a very long standing wrangle over the sale of a radar and traffic control system.
A parliamentary committee released a letter from BAE chairman Dick Oliver saying the company was ready to compensate Tanzania as soon as the payment is cleared by Britain's Department for International Development.

Last year, BAE pleaded guilty to failing to keep proper records of payments to a former adviser in Tanzania. Credit to this will go to the all NGO'S like corner house , CAAT, and the rest in the UK that fought the Tanzania corner, The Tanzanina parliamentary team that visited the UK led by the deputy speaker of the house, the Uk parliament,DIFD and above all Balozi P. kallaghe the High commissioner in London who has been at the front line leading the Tanzania diplomatic assault on this matter. The onus is now on the Tanzania Government to show the world and all its critics that tanzania is now politically mature with international standard of financial transperency and accountabilty
